French Broad River fishing report from The Whitewater Sportsman
2/09/2012 : Almost that time !! The French Broad is looking clear and cold as of today, and flowing a nice medium level, too. All signs point to a great early season; all we need now are some warm, sunny days and it, voila, it will be smallmouth season!
Plans are to start taking trips on the river as soon as it gets warm enough to do so, usually early-to-mid March. Early season is the time to catch the bigger smallmouth by fishing slowly and deep off the main current. Catch rates tend to be lower than in the summer but size is usually much better, and the chance for a truly big one is very real.
Call 828 216-1336 to book a trip or for more information about fishing the French Broad.
